The Magiline Pools, for which we are the only agents in Ireland, are products of proven quality and long established on the continent as the most economical method of installing a pool, which will stand the test of time.
Lakeland Pools History. Lakeland Pools was set up in 2002 to cater for the domestic swimming pool market. Our first objective was to establish partners whose products were the best available. Although this was a relatively new market in Ireland it was long established on the continent. Magiline based in Troyes France was the shining light for this. The research and product development carried out over the years by the company means that their products have now surpassed all expectations you could have for your home swimming pool. Swimming Pools Water control. The filtration pump although powered by a 2 kw pump will pump approx 3 times more water than a standard pump (also 2kw).
The ph unit will keep the water at the correct ph levels, which is essential for your chlorine to work properly. The Magiline Chlorine generator generates the chlorine. When both units are working together it becomes very easy to keep your water a beautiful light blue and clear colour. Magiline Parts . The Contra flow unit offers 50KMH of adverse current to swim against and connect to Jacuzzi jets in steps or wall. Two lights come as standard and give a beautiful effect from your pool at night. The copingstones are made from a very high quality sand stone and will match any environment. There is a large range of stairs to choose from and the pool can be made to any shape or size.
Swimming Pool Heating. We generally use the Bowman heat exchanger but there are many options for the customer including heat pumps, solar etc. A common misconception is that the cost of heating a pool will make it prohibitive. This is not true. A typical indoor pool 8m long by 4m wide, covered by an 8mm heat retention cover can be kept at 25 / 26 deg, 24/7, for as little as 25-30 euro per week.
Environment. Traditional filtration methods involve filtering the pool water through a sand filter, which works ok. However the sand will, approximately once every week, build up pressure because the grit and dirt will sit on the top of it and cling to the sand. Therefore the system will have what’s called a backwash. The backwash will send the water in the opposite direction and dump 10 to 15% of the fully chlorinated water into the environment. Not good, never has been and these days County Councils don’t like them at all. Magiline solved this problem with the Fx filtration system. It uses cartridge filters that don’t use backwash and the only maintenance necessary is to occasionally clean your filters or change them. The water if maintained properly will not need to be changed for years. Another environmental plus is the fact that the Fx system filters 3 times more water than traditional filtration systems meaning lower filtration times, saving electricity.
Larger Swimming Pools. The Magiline system is also suitable for larger pools up to 20m by 10m. This is an excellent way of installing larger commercial pools in places such as Schools, GAA centres, Hotels, Golf clubs, Apartment developments, Retirement villages, Health clubs etc where the budget may not be as large as the 5 Star hotel with 200 rooms. We use a reinforced liner 1.5mm thick that is welded in place. Racing Lanes, Motifs and Depth markers are options available. Lakeland pools have now a number of these projects under way.
The pool is built by assembling panels that are designed never to corrode and have the required strength to support the water containment. Each panel has a built in shutter to contain reinforced concrete. There is a slip at the top of each panel, which runs all around the pool. The liner fixes easily and securely to this. Magiline Pools are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Some people elect to build the pool first and at a later stage put a building around it. Magiline lends itself to this idea because it is completely self-supporting, i.e. it doesn't use any support from the earth around it so can even be built above ground.
